MultiMFA SMS

Set up MultiMFA SMS to share verification codes with approved users, manage recipients, review delivery, and secure team account access with audits.

Best for: Teams and families that need one dedicated number for account codes.

Overview

MultiMFA SMS gives you a dedicated number to receive verification texts and forward those codes to approved relay users.

Finding this in the dashboard

After you log in, click MultiMFA SMS in the dashboard sidebar. You can also start a purchase from Share MFA Codes or from Overview. Naming, relay users, upgrades, and SMS activity all stay on this one page.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Step 1

    Go to MultiMFA SMS

After you log in, click MultiMFA SMS in the dashboard sidebar. You can also start from Share MFA Codes and choose MultiMFA Number (SMS).

  2. Step 2

    Choose Your Number

Click Purchase SMS number and pick a dedicated phone number for MFA texts.

  3. Step 3

Choose a License or Trial and Pay

Select a free trial or a paid SMS plan, then complete checkout for your new MultiMFA SMS number.

  4. Step 4

Add Relay Users to your new MultiMFA SMS number

Stay on MultiMFA SMS and add the people who should receive forwarded codes from that number.

  5. Step 5

Use your MultiMFA SMS Number for your account’s MFA

Register that number as the 2FA/SMS phone number on your accounts. All of your relay users will receive the codes.

  6. Step 6

Review SMS activity on the same page

SMS Activity is on the MultiMFA SMS page, not a separate sidebar item. Check delivery history and update relay users as roles change so access stays minimal and secure.

Best practices

  • Only add trusted relay users who actively need access.
  • Remove former contractors or teammates immediately.
  • Name each SMS number (for example "Finance team" or "Client A") so you do not have to identify licenses by phone number.
  • Review account security settings monthly.

Common troubleshooting

  • If codes are delayed, confirm your relay destination details are correct.
  • If a service rejects your number, verify it supports virtual SMS numbers.
  • If a user stops receiving codes, remove and re-add them from relay users.
